A simple learning routine

Choose. Practise. Review. Improve.

Grasp English gives learners a clear route from practice to progress without making the experience complicated.

01

Choose Practice

Select a year group, topic and suitable level. Focus on one skill or complete mixed practice.

02

Complete the Test

Work through carefully generated questions with a clear, distraction-free answer area.

03

Review Progress

Results are saved to the learner account, organised by topic, skill, score and date.

04

Improve the Next Skill

The dashboard highlights stronger areas, weaker skills and the most useful next activity.

The adaptive engine

Every answer tells us something.

Grasp English looks for the pattern behind a mistake, not just whether it was right or wrong, and uses that to guide the next practice.

Identifies recurring grammar, punctuation and spelling patterns.
Adjusts question difficulty in real time to the learner’s performance.
Recommends a meaningful next step, not just more questions.
Fix the Sentence · practice itemLive example

Me and my friend waswere walking home when we seensaw a dog who's lead had broke.

Subject–verb agreement, tense and homophone confusion — the errors that lose the most GCSE accuracy marks.
Why not just worksheets?

What actually changes when practice is adaptive.

Grasp English isn’t a bigger question bank — it’s a different kind of practice.

Already a working adaptive tutor

Not just a test — a tutor that keeps building on what it learns about your child.

These are live, working parts of Grasp English today, not a future plan.

Live now

Adaptive Practice Engine

Responds like a tutor would — adjusting question difficulty in real time and pinpointing exactly which skills a child is weak on, not just their final score.

Live now

Structured Phonics Support

Systematic, cumulative phonics and decoding practice alongside the main curriculum, drawing on established structured-literacy principles — extra support for learners who need it.

Live now

GCSE English Language & Literature

AQA and Pearson Edexcel-aligned question practice across both qualifications — exam-board question types, timed writing, and set-text quotation work.

Next up

Multi-student class tools

A dedicated view for tutors and teachers to manage a whole class or caseload in one place, on top of the 1-to-1 tools already live in Tuition Hub.

Built around learning

More than a test. More useful than a score.

Every part of Grasp English is designed to turn practice into something actionable.

Adaptive Practice

Questions respond to how a learner is performing, not the same fixed set for everyone.

Progress Intelligence

See strengths, developing skills, recurring difficulties and the most useful next activity.

Print Centre

Generate printable practice from the same curriculum structure as the adaptive engine.

Mixed Practice

Combine grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary in one test to build recall and confidence.

Tutor Support

Tutors use learner progress and live session tools in Tuition Hub to make sessions more focused.

Saved Progress

Results stay connected to the account, so progress isn’t tied to a single device.

More than a final score

Understand where progress is really happening.

A test score is useful, but it doesn’t explain everything. The dashboard organises results into information learners and parents can actually use.

Frequently asked questions

An adaptive English tutor that diagnoses the specific reason behind a wrong answer, tracks a mastery estimate for every skill, and recommends exactly what to practise next — alongside structured practice, instant marking and saved results across the UK National Curriculum, Year 1 to Year 11.

Yes. Grasp English follows the UK National Curriculum year groups as the primary structure, with CEFR-graded stretch work as guidance and a structured phonics strand for learners who need extra reading support.

Yes. Results are saved to the learner account online. After signing in, progress can be accessed from a supported phone, tablet or computer.

Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe. One subscription covers both Grasp English and Grasp Maths, managed from the same account area.

Yes — the adaptive practice engine is live now. Every account gets structured practice, clear results and progress tracking, with further tutor/teacher tools in active development — see our roadmap above.

No. Grasp finds gaps and recommends the next useful practice, but it doesn’t replace what a qualified tutor does in person — explaining, encouraging and adapting to a learner face to face. Many families use Grasp between tutoring sessions, and tutors use Grasp’s progress data and Tuition Hub during sessions too.

Grasp English covers the full UK curriculum from Year 1 to Year 11, including GCSE Language & Literature, so there’s a starting point whatever year your child is in — the diagnostic screening finds the right level automatically.

Yes. Grasp only stores what’s needed to run your child’s learning account, payments are processed securely by Stripe, and parents can request access to or deletion of their data at any time — see our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Yes. Subscriptions can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled at any time from the account area — no need to email us. You’ll keep access until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.
